Hi dear Parent,

April showers have ushered in the blossoming trees, shrubs and flowers here in St. Louis. It’s truly breathtakingly beautiful in between the sprinkles, storms and downpours! I shared some of the photographs I’ve been taking at the top of the page.

How have you been doing on clearing out clutter around the house? I actually forced myself to stay in my office for seven very long days to clear out twelve file drawers—big ones! Afterward I had a huge bonfire in the pit to burn about #50 of paper that didn’t belong in my life anymore. I burned legal, medical and financial papers that had belonged to Bill and Tinkerbelle Mama. As I completed the task I realized I was opening up a whole section of my life, ready for new blessings and I felt lighter.

Speaking of lighter… I’m continuing on my fitness path with my trainer/coach Robert Martin of http://www.lookgreatnakedatanyage.com/

My food choices continue to improve, as does my eating schedule (that’s really important to keep the metabolism steady). I’m doing a variety of exercises (as soon as I get up, before eating, because the body burns more fat before Break/Fast). Best of all, I’ve stopped beating myself to a pulp if I don’t do as much as I’d hoped. Overall… I’m doing quite well.

Some of you have written to say you are joining me for better health and strength. Taking better care of yourself means you’re going to enjoy your life for a very long time and, most importantly, you are going to be around to congratulate your child upon her/his great achievements. This weekend I’m closing in on the closets. Time to recycle lots of clothes that are too big, too small, wrong color, not right for my life style. Sharing our abundance is always the right thing to do. Many parents pass on gently worn but outgrown children’s clothes while accepting wearable sizes from other parents—Paying it Forward! Bravo, Parent, bravo.

I know gas and food prices are rising dramatically. I lived through this type of high inflation in the late 70’s and early 80’s. Please spread the word to other struggling parents. Together, we can make a difference in how we manage this challenge.

Soon school will be out for the summer. I know many two-parent homes have two working parents so lots of activities are necessary to keep your child safe. But in the evenings or on days off, please turn off the tv, computer, iPod, Gameboy, radio and phone so you and your family members can play and celebrate Life together.
